How Gympass Works

gympass-review

Health and wellness are two very important things that nobody should neglect. However, with how the world works, only the most dedicated people have the time to do regular exercise and meditation. Often, people are too busy working that what they have time for exercise is used for resting.

While it is not a company’s business regarding what their employees do in their free time, it would be in their interest to guide them toward a healthier and more active direction. After all, it is well known that regular exercise promotes health, and with healthy employees mean better results for the company.

However, it would be wrong if the company mandates employees and forces them to an exercise regimen. Unless it is the army or some kind of job that requires its employees to be physically fit, such a requirement is not really necessary.

What is the best way to do this? It is a good idea to help them find what they want. It is important to offer them a way to exercise or go to the gym that is easy and convenient.

This is where Gympass steps in.

What is Gympass? How Gympass Works

Gympass, a platform and app for health and fitness that encourages users to live an active lifestyle, is Gympass. Gympass makes it possible for users to have access to different tools that allow for a healthy lifestyle.

It was the brainchild three entrepreneurs. Cesar Carvalho. Joao Barbosa and Vinicius Feriani. Currently, these three serve as the higher-ups of the Gympass echelon.

Carvalho currently holds the Global Chief Executive Officer position and is currently located in New York City, New York. Joao Barbosa assumes the role of Global Head of Partnerships/Gyms. He is currently residing in Milan, Lombardia. Lastly, Ferriani serves as a board member and adviser.

Often, people are discouraged by the difficulty of accessing something.

Consider the early days for Netflix. When Netflix and online streaming was still in their infancy, there was a noticeable drop in piracy rate. This was because people finally found a single platform that carried everything they wanted to watch.

When other streaming platforms were introduced in the market and made certain films or shows exclusive to their platforms, people once again found it difficult to access certain shows.

The competition and over-saturation of these websites made it difficult (read expensive) for people to access the media they wanted, as such, many returned to piracy.

Despite streaming platforms becoming saturated, piracy has returned to an all-time high.

How does this relate to Gympass? Well, think of it as an allegory.

Imagine if Gympass is the streaming platform while the different gyms and other health-related services are the different shows and channels. It would make sense for people who have easy access to the gym to go to the gym.

Gympass, as a platform, provides access to thousands of gyms and fitness studios worldwide. You can even get personal trainers and nutritionists through one platform. With its range of features and resources, users have little excuse for why they should fail in their fitness goals.

Other highlights that Gympass provides include workout plans, tracking tools, and support from a huge Gympass Community.

How to Use Gympass

Signing Up

First of all, Gympass is not available to individual buyers. Gympass can only be purchased by companies. These companies and workplaces will offer Gympass to their employees as part of their benefits. Gympass is only available to employees of these companies.

If a potential customer is eligible, he will be notified by email. The email will be sent within 30 days after the company partners with Gympass. The email will be sent to the employee if the company has already been partnered with Gympass.

The user will then download the Gympass App and click the Sign-up button to sign up. From there, he or she will select the name of the company that offered Gympass to you.

Sign-up will require your employed ID and email address. Other required fields might include your name. After the sign-up process, you will be given a 4-digit code through email. How Gympass Works

Use the same email that your company used to register you to Gympass. Enter your four-digit code and then click “Finish Registration” to finish your registration process.

P.S. If you do not receive the four-digit verification code, please contact customer service. They will update your email and move forward with the registration process.

Plans for activating the Gympass

To begin, you must understand which activities are available for each plan. It will vary depending on the plan you choose. Keep in mind that each company has a different value for the plans they offer. This will depend on how much your company pays Gympass.

After you have completed your registration, the app will display the available plans. Prices indicate the cost of each plan. Your company’s contract will determine the payment method.

Gympass could be paid by either deducting the amount from your payroll or charging it to your credit card.

Your payment in the first month of Gympass will be bigger if you choose the payroll payment option.

Between the date you began using the app and the billing date for your company, you will be responsible for paying the entire amount and the proportional values.

Looking for a Gym

After you have created a Gympass account, and activated your plan it is now time to start using it. The first thing you need to do is find a gym where you can exercise.

It is easy to find a gym.

On your Gympass App, click on Search and then browse the map. Of course, your GPS must be turned on and activated for the app to work correctly and accurately.

A gym can be found by searching by an activity, address or name. To find a gym that is connected to the network, you’ll need a Gympass Account. How Gympass Works

The map will then pull up and indicate the closest partner gyms from your GPS location. If you want to find out more details about the gym, click on the purple dots.

You can then click on the partner gym’s name to see which plan and activities are available when you go there.

Gympass: Check in

Now that you’ve found your gym, it is time to check in and use your Gympass.

Check-in in is the only way to access a gym, do an activity, or join a live class. You must be present at the studio or gym before you can check in. The location is approximately 100m away.

Check-in should also be done on your cell phone with the Gympass App.

Upon arriving at the activity’s location, open your Gympass App and then click on the “Check In” tab. Select the current location and confirm your check in.

Sometimes the studio or gym may not show up in your app. If this happens, check if the following:

  1. Your plan is active
  2. The gym is part of your plan
  3. If the address of the gym in the App matches your geolocation address in your phone,

Also, you can only check in once per day. This means you can only visit one gym per day. But you can also go to different gyms in one month. How Gympass Works

For Partner Apps, you do not need to check-in. They are free to use and you can access them at any time.

Managing Dependent Accounts

Gympass allows you to add your dependents into the app. This is a great feature. However, this feature will depend on the discretion of your company. This feature may be offered by your company.

You can check if this feature is available by looking at your profile settings. If your company offers this feature, a “dependents tab” should be visible. You cannot add family members to your Gympass accounts if this is not possible.

To manage the accounts of your family members, first, you must check if your plan is active. You can then register them. Create a password and then activate a plan.

Next, add a payment method to each member of your family. The maximum number of dependents you can add in Gympass is three persons. Only your partner and children are considered as dependents.

Each member of the family will have their own profile. These accounts will function in the same way as regular Gympass accounts, where they can search for gyms and check in for activities. How Gympass Works

They can’t enjoy their account forever just because they have one. The corporate user can still change or cancel a plan for a family member.

Gympass Experience

I was lucky enough to be given access to Gympass in my work. It was an added benefit so I tried it.

Of course, I first subscribed to the most affordable plan, which is the starter plan.

I recommend that you check first which studios and gyms are open if your plan is to use their service. My case was fortunate enough to find a few Gympass partners in my area.

Nevertheless, I did need to travel at times. That was when I reached my destination. The gyms were only available for their higher plans. During those times, I was out luck.

Virtual trainers were readily available during this time, which I was able to take advantage of. For these sessions, you can only book up to eight a month. If you are interested in booking these sessions, you will need to make an effort.

One thing I like about Gympass is that I must check in daily. Otherwise I have to pay a fee for missed appointments. I was incentivized to stick with my workout regimens. Since I started the service, I have lost a lot of weight. How Gympass Works

As of today, I’m still using the app. In fact, I have since upgraded my plan. And I can say I am very happy that I did. I was able to use more gyms and study at my new plan. Some of these studios offered interesting activities, and most of them were enjoyable.

Gympass could be the future for fitness and an active lifestyle, especially for employees. They found a way to promote wellness and health for employees.

As a result, it seems like both the employee and the employer have gotten their money’s worth for the service.

I guess the only glaring downside would be the fact that it is unavailable to single users. However, since Gympass has been earning more money with its business model, it seems that they have finally found something working for them.
