gympass-review

It is important to take care of your health and well-being. However, with how the world works, only the most dedicated people have the time to do regular exercise and meditation. Often, people are too busy working that what they have time for exercise is used for resting.

Although it is not the company’s responsibility to determine what employees do with their time, it would be in their best interest to help them move in a more active and healthy direction. After all, it is well known that regular exercise promotes health, and with healthy employees mean better results for the company.

It would be wrong for a company to force employees to exercise. Unless it is the army or some kind of job that requires its employees to be physically fit, such a requirement is not really necessary.

So what would be a good way to go about this? It is a good idea to help them find what they want. It is important to offer them a way to exercise or go to the gym that is easy and convenient.

This is where Gympass steps in.

What is Gympass? Gympass Bloomberg

Gympass, a platform and app for health and fitness that encourages users to live an active lifestyle, is Gympass. Gympass allows users to access different tools that can help them live a healthy life.

It is the brainchild of three entrepreneurs. Cesar Carvalho. Joao Barbosa and Vinicius Feriani. Currently, these three serve as the higher-ups of the Gympass echelon.

Carvalho is currently the Global Chief Executive Officer and is currently based in New York City. Joao Barbosa assumes the role of Global Head of Partnerships/Gyms. He is currently residing in Milan, Lombardia. Ferriani is also a member of the board and an adviser.

Often, people are discouraged by the difficulty of accessing something.

Take the early days of Netflix, for example. There was a drop in piracy rates when Netflix and online streaming were still in their infancy. This was because people finally found a single platform that carried everything they wanted to watch.

When other streaming platforms were introduced in the market and made certain films or shows exclusive to their platforms, people once again found it difficult to access certain shows.

The competition and over-saturation of these websites made it difficult (read expensive) for people to access the media they wanted, as such, many returned to piracy.

Despite streaming platforms becoming saturated, piracy has returned to an all-time high.

How does this relate to Gympass? It can be viewed as an allegory.

Imagine Gympass being the streaming platform and the various gyms and health-related services the channels and shows. Wouldn’t it make sense for people to get up and try the gym because they have easy access to it?

Gympass is a platform that allows you to access thousands of fitness studios and gyms around the world. You can even get personal trainers and nutritionists through one platform. Users have no excuse to fail in their fitness goals with the help of this range of resources and features.

Gympass also offers workout plans, tracking tools and support from a large Gympass community.

Your employed ID and work email will be used during the sign-up process. Your name might be one of the other required fields. You will receive an email with a 4-digit code after you sign up. Gympass Bloomberg

P.S. If you do not receive the four-digit verification code, please contact customer service. They will send an email update and proceed with the registration process.

Plans for activating the Gympass

You must first understand the activities available with each plan. This will depend on which plan you choose to avail with. Remember that the value of the available plans differs from company to company. This will depend on how much your company pays Gympass.

Once you finish your registration, the available plans will be shown on the app. The prices indicate how much each plan costs. The payment method will also depend on your company’s contract with Gympass.

Gympass can be paid either by deducting it from your payroll, or charging it to you credit card.

Your payment in the first month of Gympass will be bigger if you choose the payroll payment option.

Between the date you began using the app and the billing date for your company, you will be responsible for paying the entire amount and the proportional values.

Looking for a Gym

After you have created a Gympass account, and activated your plan it is now time to start using it. The first thing you need to do is find a gym where you can exercise.

Looking for a gym is a very straightforward process.

On your Gympass App, click on Search and then browse the map. Of course, your GPS must be turned on and activated for the app to work correctly and accurately.

You can also look for a gym by searching for an address, activity, or by its name. Even when searching for a gym, you will need a Gympass account to see which one is connected to their network. Gympass Bloomberg

The map will then pull up and indicate the closest partner gyms from your GPS location. If you want to find out more details about the gym, click on the purple dots.

You can then click on the partner gym’s name to see which plan and activities are available when you go there.

Checking in to Gympass

Now that you’ve found your gym, it is time to check in and use your Gympass.

You can only access a gym, participate in an activity or take part in a class if you check-in. As such, you must be in the gym or studio’s premises before checking in. A good distance is about 100 meters near the location.

Check-in should also be done on your cell phone with the Gympass App.

Upon arriving at the activity’s location, open your Gympass App and then click on the “Check In” tab. Choose the location which you are currently visiting and then confirm your check-in.

Sometimes, the gym or studio may not appear in your app. Check the following to see if this happens:

  1. Your plan is active
  2. Your plan should include a gym
  3. If the address of the gym in the App matches your geolocation address in your phone,

You can only check-in once per day. You can only visit one gym each day. You can visit multiple gyms within a single month. Gympass Bloomberg

For Partner Apps, you do not need to check-in. Using them is free; you can access them whenever you want.

Managing Dependent Accounts

Gympass allows you to add your dependents into the app. This is a great feature. However, this feature will depend on the discretion of your company. If your company offers this feature, then you are in luck.

You can check if this feature is available by looking at your profile settings. If your company offers this feature, a “dependents tab” should be visible. You cannot add family members to your Gympass accounts if this is not possible.

First, check to see if your plan has been activated before you can manage the accounts for your family members. Then, you can register them. You can then create a password to activate a plan.

Next, add a payment method to each member of your family. The maximum number of dependents you can add in Gympass is three persons. Only your partner and children are considered as dependents.

Each member of the family will have their own profile. These accounts will function in the same way as regular Gympass accounts, where they can search for gyms and check in for activities. Gympass Bloomberg

They can’t enjoy their account forever just because they have one. The corporate user can still change or cancel a plan for a family member.

Gympass Experience

Gympass was an option that I was able to use in my job. It was an added benefit so I tried it.

Of course, I first subscribed to the most affordable plan, which is the starter plan.

I recommend that you check first which studios and gyms are open if your plan is to use their service. In my case, I was lucky enough that there were a few who were partnering with Gympass in my area.

Nevertheless, I did need to travel at times. That was when I reached my destination. The gyms were only available for their higher plans. During those times, I was out luck.

Thankfully, virtual trainers were available for me during that period, and I took advantage of those. These sessions can only be booked up to eight per month. If you are interested in booking these sessions, you will need to make an effort.

One thing I like about Gympass is that I must check in daily. If I miss an appointment, I must pay a fee. This kind of incentivized me to follow my workout routines. Lo and behold, I’ve lost a lot of weight since starting the service. Gympass Bloomberg

The app is still available to me as of today. Actually, I upgraded my plan. And I can say I am very happy that I did. Upgrading my plan allowed me to access more gyms and be studious. Some of these studios offered interesting activities, and most of them were enjoyable.

Gympass Final Thoughts

Gympass might be the future of fitness and active lifestyle, especially for employees. They found a way to promote wellness and health for employees.

Gympass seems to be a win-win situation. Employees can stay fit while employers can boost employee activity and energy.

As a result, it seems like both the employee and the employer have gotten their money’s worth for the service.

I guess the only glaring downside would be the fact that it is unavailable to single users. However, since Gympass has been earning more money with its business model, it seems that they have finally found something working for them.
